In 1907, John McIlvene conveyed to Glendinning McLeish & Company Limited (a local linen business) the land interest in “Nos 4/5/6/7 Murray’s Terrace and also the four stables therein”. In the same year as the company purchased properties of Murray’s Terrace, they acquired 1-21 and 2-12 Athol Street and part of 13-17 Grosvenor Road.
An extensive three wing, six storey warehouse and office development was developed with some 100,000 square feet of floor space.
Construction of the building was completed around 1910, and it was a factory for the finishing of fine linen goods. By the early 1930's, demand for such goods had waned, and space in the building was let for use as offices, and remains so to this day.
The building received Grade 2B listed status in 2015, with the elevations on to Murray Street and Grosvenor Road being noted in particular.
Today, the property provides prime, modern office space in the heart of Belfast.
